Romeo & Juliet in darkness
Ромео и Джульетта во мгле
A chamber, psychologically rich version of the timeless tragedy has been created based on Lev Dodin’s composition, incorporating texts by William Shakespeare, Viktor Astafyev, Jan Otčenášek, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, and Elif Shafak. On stage are young actors from the Dodin Studio—energy, movement, songs, fights, and dramatic scenes. Music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Johannes Brahms, and Antonio Vivaldi accompanies this story, connecting different eras within a single theatrical space.
