Ромен Жильбер бережно трактует сюжет классической венецианской драмы в его историческом контексте. Постановка строга по цветовой гамме, экономична и плавна по своей концепции. Венеция здесь не идеальная картинка, а серо-таинственный город, который освещён всполохами пламени, и трагедия подстерегает на каждом углу.
«Джоконда» считается одной из самых сложных для постановщика – она требует всех шести первоклассных типов голоса и потому исполняется нечасто, однако неаполитанский театр собрал особенно элегантный «хет-трик»: Анна Нетребко, Людовик Тезье и Йонас Кауфман.
Перед показом лекцию прочтёт лектор-музыковед Новосибирской государственной филармонии Дарья Нехаева.
